Comments: Dear who ever you I adore the Giger website very much, as it seems like a mythical place to journey to along the Internet highways, in view of the possibility that Giger’s unconsciousness that has been responsible for most of the ideas behind his artwork may be conscious of its existence and so his energy is vibrating through the computer generated images and information held there to enter into my psyche. I would wish to say to H.R.Giger that I thank him for having known Li Tobler, she seems like someone I would have loved to briefly have met, armed with a camera, and several roles of film. If I had met her for too long, she and Giger might have felt a bit uncomfortable as I would have been staring at her too much, thinking about Gigerish things. The story of what Giger witnessed of her life as told in the Necronomicon will haunt me forever in a funny kind of way. I think it was also very touching to know that Giger held his mothers hand as she departed.. I would like to thank Giger for being there to be ripped off by the Star Trek: First Contact team because of the Borg Queen. I think that new film has enabled me to fantasies about world in the Giger books in a different way, wondering how it would have been if they had been officially designed by Giger, imagining that he would have done much better if involved, although not allowed to do half a dozen things that he wanted, and what would have been designed through lack of communication because of them would have left the Giger bits never quite what they should have been . Giger would have designed the Borg Queen’s body with organic orifices in certain places of her suit that would have pushed up the age certificate, and we’d know how she expected Data to use his love making abilities on her. Looking at the idea of the Borg’s floating cube and the sphere helps me to link my fetishes about Giger’s work with Moebius very easily too. Giger’s images have affected me spiritually you must understand and so I’ll look anywhere for a story about any one of his creatures that carries mythical resonance and ways to let the energy flow more freely through my mind so that it doesn’t float around as unknown fragments or thick blobs. I have had Gigerish themes in dreams. I’d like to find out about all the dreams people have had about Giger’s world and report the ones that I’ve had, but then they touch on other sources well so nothing is that definite. It’s probable that the most Gigerish dreams have nothing at all in common with the art work we see, otherwise they would have been too derivative. I have witnessed Giger’s unused Alien 3 monster design elegantly and fully animatedly leaping from monolith to monolith running along either side of an ancient road that I walked along. That creature, has a life and intelligence of its own, leading me on into realms beyond my own ability to understand. I get on well with it. There was no blood spilt. I’ve also dreamt about the Baphomet in the form drawn by Giger in a cartoon like manner in his Astrological symbol etchings, in my dream he stood in an empty room with ripped up remains of biomechanic resinous material strewn around the room. I’ve dreamt of Uma Thurman with her naked body airbrushed over by Giger, and Li Tobler appeared in a dream waiting for someone to arrive in a dimly lit gray corridor, and this person was unlikely to turn up. H. R. Giger appears in my dreams usually on the morning of a day that a magazine might be found in a shop with an important article or interview with Giger. The only time I talked to him in my dream was when he turned up at my old art college in a long black leather coat refusing to design for me a pack of Hounds of Hell because it was unlikely that I would be in a serious enough situation to make use of his designs, and well this was reasonable to assume in my own dream world of humiliation where I’m an absolute nobody There have been other dreams involving Giger, where he might be driving around in a fast car with a pretty young woman, or having a fight outside a pub. A little boy at a children’s birthday party, who resembled Giger causing some disruption leading to numbers of the girls screaming franticly. I’m not to sure what this was all about. I think there was a dream about a Giger parade that was supposed to come by and I was talking to one of Giger’s best friends in the crowd who was a shorter younger almost stunted version with white hair who spoke with the similar distinct accent trying to be a recognised expert on Giger’s existence, and I think he was one of army of Giger clones numbering over one thousand probably trying too the same thing all without claim to a personal existence without him. This might have been because a few months before, I had once spoken to some human named Roman Guttinger (who seemed to know Giger in one way or another) on the phone and he had in my opinion a vaguely similar accent which is one I hadn’t ever heard before other than from Giger and I didn’t know what he looked like, and after that dream I definitely don’t that I want to. The dreams were of course all very long, and I’m only speaking of glimpsed memories, but Giger has come up a few times in my Dream Diaries. Then I have had dreams that are like ideas bubbling up for paintings that have the chaotic nature of some of Giger’s compositions, with things transforming, and swirling around in a twilight environment, and strange phantom lights in the background, mixed with impressions about characters form David Lynch movies in an abstract sort of way as if it’s trying to restructure Dune into an Eraserhead type movie, and then the dreams may be about intelligence beings from other star systems communicating with me….. et cetera……

I made surrealistic sketches, but after being exposed to some of your work, I finally understood that I had seen the work of a true master, and I had no future. No way to compete. Excellent work! It keeps fascinating me with it's beautiful complexity as well as the unatural simplicity.. If you don't get it, don't bother trying, I'm not certain myself. Keep up the good work! Comments: Well, I'm a belgian student (art science), and I discovered Giger when I saw 'Alien' again in the theatre. Belgium has a tradition in surrealism. Artists like Jeroen Bosch, James Ensor and Octave Landuyt are very famous. I know that Giger himself likes Bosch, one of the earliest painters (15th century) of the fantastic. So, it isn't surprising that I admire Giger for his immense talent as a painter/designer of the fantastic. I don't agree with the opinion that Giger is a painter of the dark only. When you look at his work, there is indeed a dark and gloomy component, yet there's also another, more positive, touch present. Take for instance the painting of his mother: a mixture of a dark, mythical being and a very tender portrait of a woman. Superb indeed! Last year I was able to see Giger himself, at the festival of the fantastic film in Brussels. But I was too afraid to ask him a signature in the books I had with me (stupid indeed). Still, I can fill many hours looking at the overwhelming paintings, seeing 'Alien' over and over again and spreading the tarot-cards to see the future. I sincerely thank Giger for the many pleasant and also horrifying hours he gave me. Thank you very much!

Anyways, I am very Proud to be a fan of an artist who takes time to recognize his fanfair, and I am now more loyal than I ever have been. I hope Giger gets more movie exposure, as his work was very excellent on previous motion pictures. Thanks for your time A loyal Fan Brock Hemming PS. Since I have no Internet at home... I´m currently working on a new level for the 3D- game QUAKE and am planning to use some A Rh+ textures for it (no profit-no sale). The level should be found on the aforementioned homepage as soon as it´s ready. Yours sincerely, Remigio Gazzari .Flood. "Everything is what it seems if You look deep enough tonight and see.." Stefan E. Schmidt, Salut

My teachers think that Im messed for what I draw or paint in class, along with my fellow students, but I can see the meanings and hidden messages and smaller images in my work that everyone else is supposed to see. This pisses me off becauz I dontst wantst ta change it for nobody , but I want people to at least get some of the meaning. Oh well. I am looking to get into the computer design buisness, possibly with LucasArts, but right now that is up in the air. I am definately intrigued with movies such as the alien series and the Hellraiser series. Next to those, I can definately deal with a Star Wars based movie any day as well.

Right now, NECRONOM V is on my Giger calendar, and what a way to start the year! I've got BIOMECHANICS, as well as posters like LANDSCAPE XVIII, LI II, and SAFARI; plus I own two CDs where his covers can be found: Danzig III: HOW THE GODS KILL, and Carcass: HEARTWORK. Giger is a true inspiration to me, and just the word BIOMECHANICS sets my mind off somewhere else. I'll own an original work of his someday! Hope to see more of his work in film as well!

My problem is that the 'art' community here is very tight and cliquish, and not open to what many would consider 'dark' or 'strange' work. I feel that I am not without talent, just stuck in a very artistically close minded city. Would you have any advice on how someone outside the 'mainstream' might go about breaking into the art world? Also, I realize you are very busy, but do you ever make arrangements to review or critique work by artists in my position??? Many thanks for your time....Bob Libby
